Interpretation is a term used for different methods to create strong experiences for visitors of protected areas, museums, historical sites, botanical gardens, zoos and similar institutions. These mission-driven places need to convey their messages to a wide range of target groups. But how to do it?

This lecture gives an overview of the history and importance of informal education/interpretation and the current approaches of foremost authors, experts and organizations. Through his own works and various other references Dr. Wohlers reveals the essential differences between these practices.

The program is free and open to the public, but due to the limited number of seats, please indicate your intent to attend until 24 March, 12 AM (with the name of the attendant and the organization if it is relevant). Contact Zsuzsa Berecz at info@heritagemanager.hu or call +36 70 235 0767.

This lecture is the first stage of the educational program the Association of Cultural Heritage Managers (ACHEM) and KON-TIKI office organize in order to popularize the approach of natural and cultural heritage interpretation in Hungary. In this Spring and Autumn two trial courses will be organized as part of the project for professionals and academics dealing with the natural and cultural heritage.
